Now that I am home for the week, I get to catch popular television programs that I normally do not see. Particularly, I watched Dancing with the Stars that surprised me with a ghetto bitch that after she originally saw the show in jail, got on as soon as she got out. That bitch is none other than Lil' Kim. To watch her go from a booty shake to ballroom dancing just brings a smile to my face :)This is an image from her first arrest, not in '94 but 1996 for marijuana as reference to her arrest for conspiracy in 2005. The other is her on Dancing with the Stars, and the third is just great.

in light of badlands

The film Badlands left a huge impression on me this week, which led to a little digging. Aside from James Dean, Badlands, along with many other films, have been inspired by the murder spree of Charles Starkweather and Caril Fugate. This raises a question for me; are we born naturally to rebel society or is it a developed, environmental trait? Obviously this has been an ongoing "battle" in the field of psychology, but it is certainly an issue this film and the Starkweather-Fugate killings bring to surface.

Movie tonight:
Badlands (1973)
Kit and Holly have the most innocent man with his woman killing spree, its like the whole time they are fighting against the systems that where so strict on who to love. By killing Kit thought he could be happy with her, but like most things it all falls under, which is a relieving conclusion because the whole thing was a train wreck. Ah the fleeting nature of life and love. This murder spree is touching not a film going for shock value, its about emotions relationships families trust, and Martin Sheen is pretty bad ass.
Sissy's narration throughout the whole film is fabulous, it makes the intensity of the events become more human scale.

My favorite scenes are these more innocent lovey dovey ones:
